Facilitating Canadian Companies’ Entry into Iraq

As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral private sector relations between Iraq and Canada, a meeting was held with the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad, attended by Mr. Peter, Canadian Trade Consul.
The discussions focused on mechanisms to facilitate the entry of Canadian companies into Iraq, address challenges and barriers, and explore promising opportunities within Iraq’s private sector to foster local partnerships between Iraqi and Canadian businesses.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Khalid Al-Jaberi, Chairman of the Osoul Organization for Economic Development and Sustainable Growth; Mr. Haider Al-Omran, Chairman of the Baghdad Council for Digital Transformation and Electronic Payments; and Ms. Zahraa, representative of the Riwaq Baghdad Center.

Participants emphasized the importance of establishing strategic cooperation channels to enhance the business environment and promote sustainable investment partnerships between Iraq and Canada, contributing to economic and technological development in both countries.
