A delegation from the Osoul Organization for Economic Development and Sustainable Growth, headed by Mr. Khalid Al-Jaberi, accompanied by Mr. Haider Al-Omran, Chairman of the Baghdad Council for Digital Transformation and Iraqi Electronic Payment, met with H.E. Mr. Benkin Rikani, Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the ongoing preparations for the First National Tax Conference, scheduled for August 25, 2025, were reviewed. The conference aims to discuss tax reform packages, the self-assessment and post-audit system, the future vision for taxation, in addition to discussing the draft of the new income tax law and the national tax strategy.

The conference will also address the simplification of tax procedures approved during the past year, the facilitation of tax settlement mechanisms for the oil sector and major taxpayers, as well as exploring the role of the tax system in supporting the national economy, stimulating the investment environment, attracting foreign companies, in addition to the comprehensive digital transformation of the tax and financial management system.
