Osoul Discusses Exchange Rate Impacts and Labor and Social Security Challenges with the Private Sector

Osoul Foundation for Economic and Sustainable Development held a preparatory session with representatives of member companies, consultants from international firms, and academics to discuss current economic developments and the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the private sector, including their potential effects on operating costs, prices, demand, liquidity, and corporate competitiveness.

The meeting also examined the key legislative and procedural challenges companies face in complying with labor and social security laws and tax disclosure requirements. Particular attention was given to overlapping requirements between the tax and social security authorities, gaps in leave management, employee termination and transfers, labor dispute resolution, and the calculation of end-of-service benefits and contributions when employees move between companies.

Participants emphasized the importance of simplifying procedures, limiting administrative interference in the management of private companies, and establishing clearer relations between government authorities and the private sector. These measures would help companies navigate economic changes and reduce legal and procedural risks.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare practical recommendations ahead of an expanded workshop involving representatives of the government, parliament, and the private sector. The workshop will aim to review economic, legislative, and procedural challenges and develop actionable outcomes.
