Entrepreneurs’ Roadmap for Growth

Makers Baghdad, in collaboration with the Osoul Foundation for Economic Development and Sustainable Growth chaired by Mr. Khalid Al-Jaberi, held a dialogue session attended by more than sixty entrepreneurs. Participants highlighted the main obstacles hindering the growth of startups—among them, the multiplicity of fees, the lack of a documented business registration guide, opaque SME classification, insufficient specialized consulting, financing challenges, difficulty accessing officials, as well as legislative constraints stemming from the Companies Law, the Labour Law, intellectual property rights, and funding round regulations.

‏Attendees agreed to develop a gradual roadmap to address these barriers and submit it through the Council for Private Sector Development, represented by Mr. Al-Jaberi. The plan includes launching a package of short-, medium-, and long-term measures, activating regular dialogue channels with decision-makers, and reviewing outdated legislation to draft amendment proposals that align with the Constitution and market needs.
