Osoul held a meeting with a number of its private-sector member companies and institutions, including Aswar, Asia, Qi Card, Al-Arab, Tabadul, Atlas Plast, Aden Road, RC , PwC, Toyota Iraq, and the Baghdad Council for Digital Transformation and the Iraqi Electronic Payment System.

The meeting focused on discussing the outcomes of the Prime Minister’s meeting with the private sector and reviewing the paper submitted by Osoul Foundation outlining key economic challenges and proposed solutions.

The discussions addressed ways to strengthen the partnership between the government and the private sector and support the government’s direction to position the private sector as a key partner in Iraq’s economic development. Participants also discussed several critical areas, including tax and customs reform, streamlining investment and industrial procedures, digital transformation, development of the banking system, addressing inflation and liquidity challenges, strengthening social security and pension systems for private-sector employees, and protecting intellectual property and developing the patent system.

Participants agreed to develop a set of practical recommendations and proposals to be submitted to the relevant authorities, in support of economic reform efforts, improving the business environment, and strengthening the role of the private sector in sustainable development.
