Mr. Khalid Al-Jabri, Chairman of Osoul organization for Economic and Sustainable Development, accompanied by Mr. Bader Riyad, welcomed a delegation from Deloitte, comprising Mr. Sirwan Barwari, Partner; Mr. Mustafa Al-Ani, Partner and Director of Tax and International Tax; and Mr. Qutaiba Zaki, Partner.

The meeting featured an in-depth discussion of the key challenges affecting Iraq’s business environment, particularly those related to taxation, legislation, and regulatory frameworks. Particular attention was given to the challenges facing foreign companies operating in Iraq, especially those in the oil and gas sector, as well as businesses across other key economic sectors.

The meeting concluded with a shared understanding on a number of practical approaches to addressing existing barriers and facilitating investment. The participants also exchanged views and proposals aimed at strengthening Iraq’s legislative and regulatory framework in line with the requirements of a modern economy, while enhancing the competitiveness and attractiveness of the country’s investment environment.
