The Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, through its Departments of Technological & Cybersecurity Studies and Economic Studies, held a dialogue session titled “Electronic Payment in Iraq: Assessment of Achievements and Challenges,” attended by researchers, government and banking officials, and private-sector experts, with the participation of Osoul Foundation for Economic Development and Sustainable Development. Participants reviewed advancements in card infrastructure, POS systems, and e-wallet services, identified barriers such as low public awareness, lack of unified legislation, and cybersecurity concerns, and proposed a comprehensive national strategy to reform the legal framework, attract fintech investment, and strengthen public-private partnerships.
